The RFSU Menopause Test is a self-test developed so that you can easily and quickly find out whether you may be in menopause. The test can identify elevated levels of FSH in urine, a hormone that increases in connection with pre-menopause/menopause.
The menopause (menopause) is a hormonal change that usually begins when a woman approaches the age of 45 and usually lasts for 5-10 years. Women have entered menopause when a year has passed since their last period. The period in between is called pre-menopause (perimenopause). Irregular periods are an early sign of perimenopause. Other symptoms are also common during menopause, such as mood swings, fatigue, sleep problems, hot flashes, sweating, restlessness and dry mucous membranes.
During menopause, the body's production of estrogen gradually decreases, leading to an increase in follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels. The RFSU menopause self-test can detect the presence of FSH in urine when the concentration increases from 25 mIU/ml and above. The test is easy to use, you can choose whether you want to urinate directly on the stick or dip the stick into a container. Results are displayed within 5 minutes.
Not recommended when using hormonal contraceptives (birth control pills, hormonal IUDs) or hormone-regulating drugs for menopausal symptoms, as the test result can be misleading.
Test with morning urine, pee directly on the stick or dip the stick in a container. Results within 5 minutes.
When should you test?
Menstruating women: Test 3-5 days after the start of menstruation.
Women who have stopped menstruating: Can test at any time of the month.
For a reliable result:
Test yourself on at least 2 different test occasions.
The test should be carried out on the same day of the month on all test occasions.
For women with irregular periods, 4 test sessions over a 2-3 month period are recommended.
In addition to the RFSU Menopause test, RFSU offers a digital self-assessment test, together these tests give a good indication of whether, and where, you are in menopause.
Not recommended when using hormonal contraceptives (birth control pills, hormonal IUDs) or hormone-regulating drugs for menopausal symptoms, as the test result can be misleading.
How to take the test:
1. Open the foil bag, take out the test stick and remove the protective cap
2. Hold the absorbent tip directly under the stream of urine for at least 10 sec or collect urine in a container and dip the test stick in the urine for 10 sec.
3. Place the test stick on a dry, flat surface.
4. Read the test result after 5 minutes.
Contents: 2 test strips with plastic cover, 1 instruction manual
